Just finished skinning and refinishing this one. Was going to sell it but I think I'll hang on to it for awhile. For a mass production bow, the Damon Howatt/Howatt bows are really something.  Great woodgrains, riser lines,laminates, etc. Love the hunter models, matadors, coranados, etc too. I think the hunter may be in the top two production bows out there.
Just wondering if there are any more fans out there besides me....Any favorite models/years?

I have heard great things about Howatt bows but have never shot one.  I need to try one day.

yup, me--. i have always liked super D's; i've had 2 of them, both in the late 70's, and regret ever selling them. i will get another someday. had a howatt hi-speed also, another excellent bow. damon-howatt made the best so-called production bows ever, IMO. yours is a beaut!!

Thanks, It's a Brazos river snake that was originally somewhat bleached during tanning. I had to mess with a little leather dye and some oils to get the color back.
The rosewood in that riser is fantastic. Makes the end result look even better.

Those hi speeds are tack drivers!

I have one that pulls 47# and one thats 50#. It's all I hunt with, really like them.

A Super D was what my bowhunting mentor usually shot.  Heck of a nice bow.

Best friend bought one back in '90 from 3 Rivers. Zebra wood model, with black, white, and red glass overlays.

I have shot it, sweeeet, pretty curve!

It came with Dacron string, we put on F.F.
Performance plus!

I had a Hunter great bow ,just got to heavy for me, 60# @ 28" and I draw 29". Bow did that thing shoot a 2216.......  

The rosewood Super Diablo is my favorite "factory" bow of all time. The best riser wood, sweet lines and shooters to boot.

I have a lefty Rosewood Super Diablo.  I blew up a High Speed last year so I am a little spooked about shooting the SuperD.

If you look close the Super Diablo is doing duty as the Dreamcatcher. Same lines, just minor refinements is all. Great bows. Also good to see that Damon Howitt is putting their name back on the Bows. As stated earlier they are some great bows.

Yes the current S-D's appear to be off of the same form as the dreamcatcher... the older ones were a bow of their own..I would say they were closer to the more current Mamba's which is also very close to the past Hi-speeds...

IMO..the older S-D had the prettiest Brazillian rosewood ever used on a "Hunting Bow".... I sure wish they could still legally import that wood...can you emagine the beautiful customs we'd be drooling over today?

I had a Zebra Wood Super D, back in the early nineties.

Great bow.

I remember putting myself through torture when I drilled it and put brass bushings in it for a quiver.

It was the only Martin bow I ever owned that did not weigh in more than it was marked.

I let a friend "borrow" it to try and get him into a recurve. Two days after he took it home, his house was robbed and they took his gun safe  his Iguana and my bow!

Yikes!  Maybe the iguana did it.

I have 2 Hunters and a Mamba.  I love DH bows.  Great lookers and shooters.  A friend of my who shoots wheelies shot my #45 Hunter and was amazed at how much he liked shooting it.

Here's my original one I bought new in 1971 or 2.  I don't own it anymore.  By the way, tell me I'm not traditional with that stabilizer in 1972.

Have a 50 pound Super D and love it. One of the bows that will never leave me. I'm not sure but the Dream Catcher took over for the Super Diablos, just about the same bow. I have a Savannah longbow by Martin that is a great bow.

I had a nice 54inch but it was just atad to heavy for me that I gave to a friend.
