Greetings...I'm preparing to visit the local archery shop to purchased arrows for my recently aquired '72 Bear Kodiak Magnum 52, "#45, LH.  I haven't shot recurve in 35 years..sooo...my questions are: do you shoot carbon off the shelf like a wooden shaft and would anyone have a suggestion on where I should start with carbon shaft size and/or wooden shaft size/weight.  My draw is 28" Thanks in advance for your input.

I like carbon, and as many here will attest, the Arrow Dynamics shafts are perhaps the most forgiving in terms of spine. I think they are easy to tune and VERY durable. I would imagine that it's hit or miss to get consistency with wood.

Thanks for the advice.  I purchased Gold Point shafts..600 gr along with 5.5" parabolic feathers, 100 gr inserts, small game blunts and fld points(125gr). I am having the shafts cut to 29.5" (1/2" longer, just in case). I will do the fletching myself (its been a few years). I purchased everything from a TRADGANG sponsor.     Regards...Thom
