Thought I'd give an FYI since I think several like Fred Eichler's show.

Easton Bowhunting started a new season last night.  It was some good recurve hunting in West Virginia with Fred and friends.  Good episode!

What is the name of his show? I just got DirectTV and the only one with Fred Eichler I found was this morning and he and 2 others hunting coyote and wolf in Canada with rifles.  Did see a different show this morning of a father/son team hunting elk with recurves but am not sure of the name of that show.

Cheers,
Joe

Easton Bowhunting TV

Cocklebur, you'll have to look it up.  It's on the Sportsmans Channel. (edited for right channel)

I know I'm old school, but I'll probably miss that one. So far, I've refused to pay for cable TV.

I get about 15 channels over the air, and the electricity to supply the TV is all that I'm going to pay for.

Guess you could say that "I'm taking trad to a new level".

Anyone else goin' that far?

BWD

I pay for cable, got lots and lots of channels, but less than 15 of them are worth watching.  :dunno:

Joe, Eichler has two shows. One is Easton Bowhumtong TV. The other is a varmit hunting show (he's also on the Muzzy bowhunting show sometimes).

That said, looks like the Easton show has moved from the Outdoor Network.

Yeah moved to The Sportsmen Channel - WV was a good one. This is the last hunting show I care to watch.

I don't pay for TV either and I'm not too old.

No disrespect to Fred or those that watch but I feel most of the hunting shows have skewed my sons view of hunting. He can't understand why we don't see as much game as they do on the shows. He thinks we need to buy some new product that will help us. I'm resisting preaching to him about it but do try to behave in a fashion that demonstrates realistic expectations and a good hunting ethic...

Rant complete....

Don't get the sportsman channel.  Was looking forward to a new season, since they have run the same shows for two seasons.  Oh well.  Maybe they'll cross back over to a channel I get.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

What he said.

Fred's show, Easton Bowhunting TV, is different from other hunting shows. Fred gets as excited about killing a spike buck as he does killing a monster. He hunts places where you and I could hunt, mostly. The latest episode shows him hunting whitetails in WV on private land in the hills and hollers or "ravines", as Fred calls them before he adjusts his accent to the local ways of communication. He kills a young spike and a young doe with his Palmer recurve and has a great time doing so.

The other show he does is called "Predator Nation". It's not trad but still a good show to watch.

Fred Eichler is top notch in my book.

I watched Friday evening. It was a good traditional hunting show. Not many of them. I think Fred should tone it down a little when he hits game. My wife who does not hunt but supports my hunting thinks he's off the wall. I would be afraid that a non-hunter might get turned off Fred's excitement. I also have a few of his hunting videos and an another hunter who borrows my videos can't stand his over exuberant behavior.  :dunno:
