Cottonwood

Huntschool here is what I am running with my CX Heritage 150's and they fly like darts out of my Samick Spikeman 50# @ 28 DL Recurve.

5" Feathers RH
145 gr broadhead ~ Zwickey Eskimo 125 gr with insert for the BH total weight.  I have also used a Zwickey Delta 4 blade getting the same results.
160 gr Field tips, I get the same results.
80 gr firber core that runs the full length of the inside of the arrow shaft.
605 gr total arrow weight

I tried the CX Heritage 250 with the same set up, and its just not as accurate and would require more testing with a heavier broadhead.

Hope this helps.

What are you using for a fiber core,  rope?

I use the CX 350's with my 2 Widow longbows and my Schafer. I use a 260 tip along with a 100 gr brass insert. This arrow flies GREAT in my setups and is the weight I want (745-750 gr).

Cottonwood.... What length are your arrows cut to? I shoot the 250 full length with 125grn tip and thats all. I am shooting 50# @ 28.5". They seem to shoot fine but are stiff. I plan on getting some 150's to see if that would make a difference for the better. Is it a bad thing to shoot full length arrows. I can cut them but don't see the need to unless I have to. Just wondering

Sorry to be a little late but I got my last ones from Big Jim. His shipping was very fast.

Thats a "stout" arrow....
Yes it is, but boy do they hit HARD! I don't see myself ever changing. Ounce I find something that works for me, I stick with it. As a matter of fact I now have 9 dozen shafts in the closet  :D

I'm using a orange nylon fiber rope.  They actually were already in the shaft when I got them from another guy who sent them to me, and discovered them by total accident.  As well as they were flying, I figured to just leave them.

I removed one to check the weight, and it was right at 80 gr.  To put it back in the shaft, I tied a small string to one end and pulled it back thru.

My arrows were cut from the nock valley to the bare tip at 30"

Thanks.  I tried some "rope" a few years back while I was playing around.  Did not work well for me but I might not have been trying hard enough.
