Kenny, that is a heck of a young 9 point. I'm guessing he is a 3 year old. He's a nice deer but if you want big deer those are the ones you have to let walk. If it's ok to post pic's from years past I'll show you what that big 4 point looked like his last 2 years.

Great cat pics!!

Hey Travis,  they don't live long enuff here with the small farms and many hunters to let them go I'm thinkin! I can't tell ya how many bucks I've passed in the last 6 years, one only made it 250 yds the nite I let him walk. He had a unique sticker and offered me many shots! LOL

Last year I fooled around and let a great 8 get away waitin for a perfect shot, he scored 154, same neighbor kid got him in gun.

I also thought the 9 pt pictured to be 3, but wasn't real sure, his rack is pretty good, but bodywise he just didn't look too old.

I am startin to feel like the old buzzard who said " Patience my a$$, I'm gonna kill sumpin!"    :wavey:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Kenny my situation sounds a lot like yours. I been passing up pretty good bucks for about 15 years now. The last time I see them is usally in the back of someone's truck. I been killing mostly does last 3 or 4 years. I may be a little trigger happy come October 1.

Its kind of the same way here Kenny. To get a  buck with horns to live through a SD rifle season takes a lot of luck.

He's a great deer. I hope to see some kill pic's with you behind him this this fall. Plus a good story to go with it.

I will start a thread tonight if I get time.

Does the front yard count?
I got this one this week while I was eating my breakfast:

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Thanks Ryan. It's getting frustrating cause I can't get pic's of the really big ones. I see them once and awhile close to my cameras but no pic's.

steadman

Really Big Ones!!  :scared:   Those count right there!

Hopefully I can show them to you with in the next few weeks. Ones a big 6x6 with some extra stuff and ones a 5x5 thats about 22 inches wide that should net over 170.

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Hi Ryan, maybe the trad bow only will help a little, I'm sure the neighbors will love me!

Tree Killer

Been getting lots of fawns and elk calves lately.  Future photo ops!

This locale hasn't had much elk activity this summer.

Check out the knee on this little bucks left front. But he looks healthy enough otherwise.

Been getting pics of this old buck now for 4 or 5 years.

A limb fell down and obscured the LED's the last few days.  But this buck is a STUD!

Rise and shine!

Here is a new guy I think..

And a return by the sorta droptine buck, love his mass!

They both look young! Not shootin everything with an antler may pay off one day!  :D
