...what do you all use? I know that there are a variation of different heads that work well, so what which one do you like best and why? Anybody use good 'ol blunts? I did notice that they're MUCH more affordable than others. Thanks!

Ok, great. Thanks for the input. I'll look closer at all of these thanks! Anyone else? Only one so far that uses plain 'ol blunts...who else uses 'em?

I use judos untill the ground freezes. Frozen ground tends to snap off the spring loaded claws and bend the tip on the judo.

With frozen ground I use the rubber slip on blunts. They bounce rather than break on the frozen turf. They also leave a better hole or path in snow for retrieval.

If you tune your arrows, you will want to adjust for the different heads.

Check out the talons from Red Feather they are devastating on small game!  I need more of them.

I like judos when I can get them in the weight I need. Hex heads are ok, but for stumping I like more grab and they don't have a real good claw and not a big head area in the lighter weights.  I do like them when shooting small game due to better penitration than my favorite stump heads.  Same goes for standard blunts; I only use them for bails.  The hammer heads have more grab and the VPA more yet.  Those are my all around stump heads of choice right now.  I like the big claws and large dia head of the VPA plus the fact those don't change with head weight; the back of the head just gets longer as the head gets heavier..

muzzy makes "grasshoppers" just like judos, only they fit behind your screw in point. they cost less than judos.

I like the Ace Hex and also a head called the GameNabber at half the cost (now produced by PDP - Precision Design Products).  Good for bunnies, too.

g5 sgh. its like a judo but doesnt get clogged with mud and gunk, and easy to clean. I did snap one in half on a rock, dont know if thats a testament for or against it. hopefully you dont shoot rocks purposefully..  :archer:
