Just discovered this, I was cleaning some old wraps off of my CX 250's and there was still quite a bit of adhesive left on the arrow!

I took a can of BRAKE CLEANER and sprayed the adhesive just to see what would happen, one spray and it all wiped off!

Just thought I'd post, I'm always looking for someway to do something better!

been doing it that way since I the day I started to fletch my own arrows. If you haven't found this useful tool I would reccomend a ZIP STRIP it works especially well on carbons.

mparks

Hot water works real well after about 2 minutes.

Spurs

Ok will the brake cleaner eat the layer of wood colored carbon off of say gold tip traditional or trad only arrows?

I just use Goof Off to remove the adhesive, works for me.

Make sure you take your nocks out. I ruined a lot of things made of plastic with brake clean.

Reaper TN

I use acetone on my GT Traditionals to clean them and it does not seem to effect the finish at all.

Brake cleaner is maybe a little too "hot" chemically for finishes. I'd wipe the area down with water and soap after using it with a rag. As suggested, acetone or just hot water as being ideal....Phil

Ive had good luck with acetone also..DB

WD-40 works good as an adhesive remover and is not such a strong chemical.

highpoint forge

I've had good luck with my fingers.

I always wipe them down with "Goo Gone", then just go over them with some rubbing alcohol and they are clean as new.
