Went out this evening and sat under a barn edge.

Started out this way with an Elite I got from Chris Surtees.  I'd LOVE to take something with it before season ends Saturday.

Never did see any deer or turkey though sign was all over the place.  However, this opossum made his way in on me so I switched over to an RFA Talon on a GT arrow.  He was 20yds out and I took him clean.  Perfect shot with my Timberhawk recurve.  Great ending to a great day.

I know that most folks look down on the lowly possum but it's hide tanned out can make some awesome looking accessories.
I'm sure that just about anything you made from it would be something to admire.

Congratulations on some fine shooting!

God bless,Mudd

PS: I worked for a man once who always supplied his workers a hot lunch. His cook made some of the best fried chicken, that turned out not to be chicken at all.

Yep, you got it!!

It was, and it was good.

The way I found out it wasn't chicken was by asking if I could get a wing or two...lol

It was a great hunt!

Mudd, I'm not much on eating opossum anymore since the one I saw crawl out of the..hole of a rotten cow carcass!! *barf*

Now raccoon makes a fine bbq!  I'll skin this lil guy up this afternoon and figure out something to do with him.

Battered and fried.  Chicken sounds best.

Nice shooting, Ive handle a bunch of them trapping, there a strange animal. I once had one almost waddle over my lap before sunrise durring spring turkey season.

My boss was live trapping problem feral cats and caught one last week. He asked me to get rid of it for him. I stopped by and picked up the cage and I thought of a plan. We have a bunch of pranksters at work, one of the biggest jokers doesnt hunt, or fish or know anything about the woods. A possum may as well be a grizzly bear to him. To make a long story short I took the possum into work early, waited till the joker parked his pickup and went into the office, i then went to the back of my truck and opened the cage of the trap, pinned the possum down w/ a forked stick and slipped a slip knot over the possums hind leg  i then walked the possum over to his truck like a dog on a leash and tied it into the bed of his truck. I then sent text pics to all of his imediate co-workers of "tom's new pet"   :biglaugh:         I ended up letting it go for him cause he was really scared!!!  HAHAHAHAH!!!!  The possum had a rough day and a half in the cage but he's free now and it was worth the laugh as far as im concerned!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!

Great shooting, Matt!    Best of luck on the rest of your season.  Would be very special to take a deer with that broadhead.

Nice shot, possum hides are real nice .
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
