First of all, Merry Christmas to you all. Hope that you have a great Holiday.

I'm looking at the possibility of taking some weight off of my Thunderbird.

I can't go back to Dave since he is no longer with us, and I've done the search and came up with Raptor as a possibility.

Are there any others that you folks use with some kind of regularity? How much weight can I honestly expect to take off?

I had Dave make me this bow quite some time ago, when I shot more weight than today, and it's been idle way too long. I really don't want to hurt this bow, but it's just more weight than I want to draw these days for extended periods.

Anyway, thanks for your help, and again, Merry Christmas to everyone......   :archer:

P.S. I guess now that I've thought more about it, maybe I should have asked, have any of you had this done to a bow, and then had a problem arise because of the work that you had done?

Two Tracks a sponsor here took about 5# off my Thunder Bird.
Not much has to come off, you can't tell by looking at it.

I think this is a [thunder]bird of a different color. Am I right?

My Thunderbird is from Dave Johnson out of Linton, Indiana. He also marketed the Thunderbird bow finish products.

How many pounds did he take off of'er Mudd? Other than less weight, does she still feel the same to shoot?

I wouldn't think they'd work on other bows but the folks at Black Widow took 6 pounds off a PSAIII for me this summer. Except for the bow is much more comfortable for me to shoot (draw weight) I can't tell the difference at all. It cost me $140 but I also had them add a "motto" to the bow. The refinishing of limbs is the most expensive part of the reduction.
