I made this knife for my friend/hunting buddy to go along with the bow I made for him earlier this year.
We actually met as a result of this site several years ago! He lived in Pampa and saw some of my bows here and inquired about making him one. I made one for him and a few years later he moved to Amarillo to be the Pastor at a large church. He supplied the materials for another bow last summer. He helped with the forms and glue-up.
I did a kitchen remodel this summer and he loaned me his miter saw which was a great help in making the trim go up. I thought a nice way to thank him would be to make a knife from the wood scraps from his bow.
The scales are grey actionwood and the bolsters are gaboon ebony. The spacer is bacote with brass accents. The mosaic pins are home made. I file worked a cross on the spine and used brass liners.
Hopefully he will get to use it on a hog soon!!
