Hey Tradgangers,

Any sponsors on here sell digital scales that you would recomend? I'm sure all the sponsors here are great but I'm not sure about the scales and which may be better than the other. I'm not interested in a beam scale.

A scale up to 750 or 800 grains would be more than enough for me.

Thanks.

I got mine from a fly fishing shop to weigh shooting head lines for my spey fly rod.  They all work well and are little money...Doc

Thanks gang. Looks like a thumbs-up on 3R and KK. I like the simplicity of the hanging scale.

I picked up an MTM somewere for about 25.00. It goes up to 1000 gr so it works well for heavier arrows.

I have and like the one from 3 Rivers, too. Seems to me a hanging scale would be difficult to use. Don't know. Never tried one.

Shouldn't even be commenting maybe, but I just received a MTM mini digital reloading scale from Cabelas in the mail yesterday. Not even out of the case yet, but I liked the write up on it!

I think I'll get the hanging scale. I'll try to respond with comments about it after using it a while. Gotta get some glue-on points anyway. This should be an easy add-on to the order.

Lots of them on ***bay, the Harbor Freight scale sounds good though.

When I shoot my 340# Hill Long Bow I'll need something to weigh a 10gpp arrow. HAA!

Seriously, it's compact and easily stored and can weigh everything I need for my archery addiction. Price is right too.

Sounds like it starts weighing at 225 grains if that's true how would you weigh components?  Plus how do you clip a nock on it.  Never had a problem with a shaft rolling off my scale.

Bowwild

I bought a table top model made by Carbon Express for weighing arrow components and completed arrows. I bought the Easton digital bow scale for measuring draw weights.  I don't know how I got by without either for more than 40 years.  I absolutely love both of them. Since my draw length is 26" rather than the 28" standard, I use the digital draw weight scale on every bow. I check the bowyer's specs and then see what the bow draws at my length. Lots of fun and I think an aid to my tuning.  Both of these scales are a bit salty (component scale around $40 and the bow scale $150) but together they are less than the cost of just ONE limb on one of my custom bows.

I have a brand new hanging spring scale that I'll never use again.

Now, more for fun than anything else, I'd like to get a chrony suitable for archery. I could also use for my much more mild air rifle hobby.

I believe that's up to 225 grams.

And I already have a bar scale that can weigh smaller items/weights I've used for reloading shotshells for skeet. I needed something for heavier measurements.

I have the digital one from 3 rivers, it works great for me! Use to use a blance beam Lymans model but it's covered in shop dust lately.
