I can't help it, maybe I need to see a therapist? [/b]
Ok, Bucko...I got some counseling credits... I'll come shrink ya some whilst we sit some trees in your honey hole... maybe I'd even get to shoot AT a deer!

Rice,
I must say that is one beautiful turkey.

A very nice season, I think I enjoy hunting them equally.  Heck, I just enjoy being out in the woods.

I love hunting turkeys as well, but nothing gets my heart pounding like a deer.  Maybe because I get way more opportunities on turkeys.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me, Gen 27:3

If turkeys weighed 800 pounds, there would be no reason to hunt elk. Well, maybe there still would be, but turkeys are a real hoot with a stick and string.

I have found no other critter that gets my heart pumping like the sound and sight of any legal bird. There have been occasions where I was able experience that feeling up to four times in a morning hunt and still never had a shot opportunity. There have been seasons where I hunted hard and never harvested a bird, yet wished the opening day was tomorrow.  Yes, turkey hunting is my passion and I can truthfully say that even my fail-to-connect seasons were still the best of times. These birds continue to enamor, irritate, test my skills and entertain. How fortunate we are.

Time to put in for the turkey draw for me. It would be nice to have that many tags in one year. Last year was the frist statewide over the counter tag for tukeys, spring season only in Utah.

I love turkey hunting with a bow, no great hunter with a shotgun, but since going all trad, have taken 10 birds in 4 years, fall and spring hunting here in KY. Like I said, I am not a great turkey  hunter, just a lot of young dumb birds, who use the same travel routes as my deer, hence I hunt them like deer!

I gave up turkey hunting 3 years ago, got sick of the bugs. My oldest son will be of age next year and wants to turkey hunt real bad so I guess I'll be at it again.

Blacktail101

My youngest (15) Dakota is into trukeys big time he would rather go after turkeys any day than a deer so he says. For xmas Santa brought him a stalker recurve from South Cox with a bow case he has harvested turkeys with a bow before but they had wheels on them this will be his first year with the stick dad is all smiles

Y'all 're all wierd. Thunder-chickens over deer? No way José!

Now pigs......I'd take a week of good hog hunting over a full season of deer hunting!

I have never hunted turkey's !

BUT

while hunting deer early this fall on my newly acquired 40 acres mostly white oak covered, what strolls by, but 9 Turkey's ,And they sure do make a lot of noise flying up into the trees .

Now I do have a double bull (Dark Horse),A Turkey call ,And some Turkey decoy's that I acquired Because they were reasonably priced !

It makes no sense not !to put all that to work !

I'll just have to give it a try ,I May have to invite someone to show me how !
