I was overwhelmed by the number of posts the passing of Chris Surtees received and the heart felt sorrow so many showed. Chris had many friends and on Trad Gang everyone is family it seems so when something like this happens it touches many. I didn't know the man but being about the same age and having kids of my own the situation really hit home.

I bid on the Two Tracks bow in the auction with the intent of it being a pass around bow in memory of Chris Surtees over the next year. I'll be providing a scrap book for those who handle the bow to write down there stories of hunts past with Chris and hunts with the bow. Add any photos you might have and at the end of 2011 we can present those good memories to the Surtees family.

I hope to start the Two Tracks bow tour of duty at the Solana Ranch hunt coming up at the end of December. Please make your request for the bow on this post and we will track it's travels. I'll be at the Pig Gig February 27th and at the second week of Bear Quest so if someone can get the bow to the first week of those events hopefully we can just keep passing it on.

This is my first attempt at a project like this so please lend a hand if you can to make this a success.

I'm not requesting the bow, however, that is a very kind gesture CJ, and one that I think the Surtees family will appreciate.  Well done.

CJ I would be honored to have the chance to hunt with that bow, if possible the last week of September or first week of October of 2011.

Thanks you for the chance to participate in this.....

Would love to have a go with Chris's bow sometime in October. See if its mojo would work in the Adirondacks.

CJ, noble gesture. I'm in for the second week of Bear Quest V, after you tag out of course. Tom Phillips will also have "Hope" and "Faith" in camp, she'll be in good company

This is a great thing to do, CJ.    :archer:
