I have some Hi-precision heads that are 95 grn  5/16 ferule. I was thinking of using them for small game. Grind the tip off for shock factor or just sharpen and hunt? Just a thought?

if not using dogs sharpen them up.if using dogs use an adder point

That is a pretty light weight head. Then again, I prefer pretty heavy arrows and heads. I know some others like lighter tackle. I'm not familiar with the head you are talking about. How about a pic?

I can't post pics. They're old from the 50's. Tiny woodsmans would best descibe them. They are light. I too use a heavy arrow set up 630+ grn. but was making some bunny arrows and just wondering. Usually use blunts but have these lying around.

Im a fan of the Game Nabbers! 160gr so they match my field tips/broadheads!

Just sharpen and hunt. I always figured if it has blades.... sharpen it!

By the way... no need to dub the tips as they wouldn't provide significant shock to warrant the alteration.

If there's one thing I've learned on here is  when Charlie speaks , listen. Thank you sir. I wasn't sure if it would be worth the trouble or not. They'll go in the mix with my talons and 38 shell casings.

Sharpen and hunt. I use old Bodkins the same way...especially on tree rats.

Chopped Snuffers are crazy deadly. Cut about 1/3 of the tip off so you have less a chance it will snake under the dirt.

I'm a big fan of those Red Feather Talons right now. They've done quite the job on squirrels.  

i was checkin out some nuts at the hardware store the other night , and saw some "tee" nuts , for furniture , which gave me the idea to cut a penny or nickel up like the tee-nut is ,then you could either taper your arrow-tip , and drill a hole , so you would have a blunt with stickers on it , or just epoxy it to the flat front.


i have some hardwood and basswood scrap layin around ,im going to whittle up some teardrop blunts.


looks like it might be just you and me for the bunny chase magnus.
