Terrible news. Truly a great guy. Just a month ago I was looking for a safety harness for my son and he offered me one just for the shipping. I'll be thinking of him as well as is family.

May God's love shine on him as he enjoys the happiest hunting ground of all.

May the spirit of love, hope and faith come to rest on the family.

Larry I am so sorry for your loss, I can't thank you enough for offering me the opportunity to meet and hunt with Chris this past 4th of July.

I will cherish those memories forever.

I don't know how I can help from MD, but if you or his children need anything let us know. I know anyone who knew him will want to help. We are family here on TG and don't hesitate to ask.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

This is very sad news.  My prayers to the Surtees family.

Never knew him except through his posts.    Seemed like a great guy and awesome bowhunter.  My condolences to his family and friends.

Tonight, Molly & I cracked open one of the bottles of wine Chris brought us when he picked up Beau for Larry.  I wish I had the power to turn the clock back.  Chris, keep a spot for me at the campfire...Doc

Chris, You're not really gone - physically yes, you're gone, but spiritually you're not.  You'll still be around the campfires, on the trails and in the stands with us because you've become a part of those of us who were privileged to know you and share a camp with you.  We'll hear you on the wind and in the silence of the woods and in the rustle of game moving.  We'll hunt together many more times, brother, just not quite the way we thought.  You'll be here until the last of us walks down his own final trail, and at the end we'll join you and hunt the woods and fields of eternity together. Peace and good hunting, brother.
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
