My deepest sympathy to Chris's Family and a terrible loss to all of us.
Quote from Howard Hill.( Whenever he taught someone to shoot) "Son make up your mind right now if you want to target shoot or hunt as theres a world of differance between the two"

Chris was a fine man.  He might have been young in years, but he packed several lifetimes of experience into one.  As others have said, the world is a poorer place today.  Chris, you'll be missed, my friend.

Father God, I ask that you give all of us time to heal through the loss of our friend Chris, as we will all miss his words of wisdom here at TradGang.

Father I ask that You be with the Surtees family as they search for the answer to the "Why" about this whole ordeal.  Be with them as they grieve through their loss.

Father it is so hard, when some one of Chris Surtees caliber passes long before we has humans feel they should.  Only You know the reasons why, but Your creation of Chris Surtees touched many lives in special ways.  We serve for just a short time here on earth, for Your purpose.

Today Father, I need strength and guidance.

Amen

Oh my Lord, I was just emailing him a day or so ago, and was in touch with Larry last night. Aint no words to help, but I will pray hard for Larry and all the family. Chris this summer sent my daughter a bow, some of you may remember the pics I posted of her and her huge happy smile. He wouldn't hear of letting me pay him for it or shipping. The Lord got him a very good one last night. He will be missed greatly !!!! I am in shock, my deepest heartfelt sympathie's. Here's the pic of my daughter as soon as she got the bow from the box, what a Awesome memory he gave her and her Daddy. I do imagine when Chris met the Lord last night and he was told well done faithful servant.... a smile much bigger than this one came across Chris's face.

Devastating!  Chris was an amazing person who was always loving, giving and sharing. He is loved and will be greatly missed. I know he is in heaven now and will welcome us when we get there just as he always made everyone feel welcome when we saw him here on earth. I cannot imagine the loss that Larry and the rest of Chris's wonderful family are feeling now. I know God will see them through, but it will be tough.

The support and love that is being poured out here shows how incredible Chris and Larry have been in their lives and how much they have meant to many of us in a variety of ways.

Amazing how many of us have shared a camp and a deep respect for this too-young-to-go bow hunter. He will be scouting for us in the Happy Hunting Ground. Rest in peace.

I had to go back and find this picture of some of us at the 2010 Blade Show.

I express my sincere condolences to the Surtees family and to Chris' friends. I'm so sorry. Lin

Wow, this is sad, sad news. Last year I posted that I was looking for a bow rack, and he jumped right in and sold me a new one that he had laying around.  Chris and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
