Has anyone got pictures of a 1-pc Bruin recurve? Looking to buy a Huntmaster 1 pc. What is the general opinion of Bruin bows?

I started to shoot Mike's bows in 1992,they are been my to go bows for quite a few years,back then.They were dacron string bow but faster than most recurves with FF of the same years.All my Bruin were Master Express TD:very stable,accurate,forgiving and fast bows.The craftmanship is really at the highest level no flaws.I plan to buy a newone that use a FF string I can't immagine the performances.

I have owned four.

-62" Master one-piece, 65# @ 28"
-60" Huntmaster one-piece, 60 @ 28"
-58" Deflex Express one-piece, 53# @ 28"
-60" Woodsmaster T/D 45# @ 28"






They are my absolute favorite recurve and I have owned and shot a bunch of different custom recurves. I draw a recurve 32". Bruin bows are designed in a way that there is virtually no feeling of stack as I get to my draw. They are plenty fast, and best of all really easy to get very quiet. I am always on the lookout for another.  All the bows were built for dacron strings including the T/D which was purchased from Mike this Fall.

Here is the one I bought last summer.  Its a 57" huntmaster.  Nice and smooth and spits an arrow out with plenty of speed.  Mike is a good guy to deal with too.  I couldn't be happier with mine.

That snow bow pic looks really nice. I'll have to shoot one of those if I get a chance.

I have two. A three piece that I have had for about 26 years and a 56" one piece. I love them! The three piece was the first custom bow I ever bought.

Traded into this one and have never hunted it, I'm a longbow guy. I set it up and tuned it and let a buddy use it for this season. So far he hasn't bloodied it. Nice looking and great shooting bow though.

That 50 pound used to be mine a few years back cause I noticed that limb tip..There is a underlay of maple that showed through and I at first thought it was a crack but found out it was just sanded quite low to where the lighter color wood showed through...Funny I was just thinking of how nice that bow shot and if memory serves me correctly I traded for a 2005 RER Arroyo I do believe and saw the Bruin on another site after I got the RER up for sale/trade a few times..Those Bruins are soo smooth to draw and were easy to tame...Glad to see the old girl is still being used ! Thanks for showing the pic..I had a leather grip on it at one time but I see it's gone and glad someone took it off..

Same here - my huntmaster was the first custom bow I ever bought  - way back 25 years ago or so.  Still have that one.  I have shot a lot of bows over the years, even some of the most highly claimed recurves of today and yet I will say without hesitation that my Bruin Recurve is the quietest, one of the fastest (even with dacron) and easiest shooting recurves I have ever shot.  I can pick it up anytime and consistently hit where I am looking out to 20 yards even after a year of not shooting it.

I often why I just didn't keep buying Bruins over the years..... perhaps it is time to give Mike another call.

Great bows

My brother has a Bruin.  He is so stoked about the bow.  He has the same to say about the shoot- ability of the bow.  He told me he can just walk out and hit with it.  Easy to tune and just point able.  He has a takedown.  He also said it was the best shooting recurve he has ever had.

My first trad bow was (still have it) a Bruin Master 3 pc recurve around 1994.  I went to the Kalmazoo trad show and shot every bow that looked interesting to me including Mike's Bruin bows.  The end result was I ordered the Bruin Master.  It has served me well.

Now, I'm into long bows.  I should sell the recurve I suppose.  Kind of hate to but it is just gathering dust.

Also, Mike is a super guy.

I don't have any pics yet, but I picked up a used 3-piece Woodsmaster about a month ago. Like everyone else has said, I am very impressed. Mine is 60" AMO 52#@28" model over 10 years old, made for Dacron only. I agree on all of the comments on speed and how quiet these bows are. I live about an hour from Mike's home and can't believe it's taken me this long to own one. I too have owned, sold and traded a lot of high end bows and this absolutely stacks up with the best of them.

I always thought they were nice looking bows.....
