Both but I think the string more than the handle

I can't use it for a walking stick if I hold it by the string!

Once again,I think Bjorn is always right .How ever it is handy.

I'm carrying it the same as Ray most of the time if I'm covering much ground.

I carry mine tucked under my left arm, keeps it out of the way and secure.

Usually by the grip...sometimes by the string.

Pretty much whatever part of the bow is handy at the time.  When walking out of the woods I carry it over my shoulder alot.

Both, whatever is handy at the moment.

I carry mine by the handle.  When I was on crutches earlier this year, I got one of those hands-free bow-slings that allows you to carry it across your shoulder or back so I could hobble around my backyard and practice a bit.
