Ok guys I'm going on my first boar hunt later this January. My biggest fear is that I will get out there take my shot which I have dreamed of for, it seems like forever now and I wont get any penetration!! Currently I am shooting a fred bear super kodiak which is 60# at 28" im pullin around 26 inches. My arrows are gt traditionals which are 560 grains with a 150 gr broadhead and a 100gr insert. The arrows are pretty much perfectly papertuned and bareshafted (which im proud of because this is my first year traditional hunting) ANYWAYS!! my question is would you perfer a two blade or three blade cut on contact for hogs.. I was thinking the 150gr woodsman threeblade BUT I know my penetration would be best with a two blade.. Any Suggestions??

I wanted to make it clear that I am not trying to insult you in any way, shape or form. But I hate hearing about the "bullet/arrow proof" hogs that really happen because the hutner shoots the hog just like they would a deer and not hitting vital organs to make a clean kill.

You will be fine with the Woodsman BH if that is what you have.  They will penetrate just fine.  You should be shooting about 54# and if you search the various threads here you will find a lot of Hogs that have been killed with bows in the 50's.  Look at the shot placement thread at the top of the page.  It is good info.

Woodsmans are fantastic, I believe a Stinger 150 4 blade would also work very well for you.

at your over 50# holding weight, a woodsman broadhead will work just fine.  that's my choice of broadheads and it killed three hogs, one over a hundred pounds with a complete pass thru.  know where best to stick a hog!

The "Woodsman" will do the job. If your looking for a 2 blade head the Ace Standard 160 grain is durable, easy to sharpen and pretty cheap for what you get.

Personally prefer two blades in a grizzly !!

you can't beat 2 blades for penatration. With that weight bow and arrows you should have no problem. Shot placement, Shot placement, Shot placemtent

You will do fine with either. I switched to the muzzy phantom two blade for hogs since i want a pass through to get a better blood trail and so far that has worked well for me. Good luck!

Get them sharp and shoot a hog.

I like the Simmions Interceptor, big and two blades.
My Bride likes the Wensel Woodsman three blade.
Both work for us.
Make sure of your shot placement!  No matter what you shoot, its the shot that counts!

I think you wont have any issues with penetration or blood trails with a sharp WW out of your set up.

I often see posts which indicate a lack of confidence in the penetration characteristics of the Woodsman broadhead.

I'm not sure where that comes from. I'd think that just by looking at the thing it would be apparent that it will go very deep, very easily.

The Woodsman could easily be the most versatile broadhead on the market today. It will do it all.

Caleb, use whichever broadhead you can get the sharpest ! And I mean SHARP !

I can't get Woodsmans sharp enough and have settled on the Stinger 150s. Great heads!
