#1 -Blatant soliciting for non-sponsors.  Some of this is by folks that register and immediately spam the site.  This has been happening a lot recently, and I am proud to see the memberships responses to these spam posts prior to us pulling them.  Someone even recently posts a digital ad straight off the vendor's web site. If anyone blatatly advertises you may lose your privilege to post.

I love it that the membership here will and defend the rules and protect those that support the site.  THANK YOU!

Anytime you see blatant advertising like that, please hit the little alert whistle found on the bottom line of every post ...

...so the admins can react to it....we can't see everything all the time so feel free to be our eyes on that.

#2 - Non-Trad Bowkills PERIOD are not allowed on Trad Gang.  That is a policy we set from day one, and this eliminates picking and choosing of who can and who can't and claims of favoritism.

So, if your boy killed a booner with a 300 mag, muzzle loader, compound, crossbow, slingshot or a rock and he's still in diapers, I'm sorry, you can't post it here.  There are no exceptions....EXCEPT any hunt offered to youth via the St Judes Auction....all hunting and fishing donations get a free pass.

#3 - Pot Stirring 'Agenda' threads.  These will not be tolerated.  These are much easier for us to read than you might think...there are hints and clues always from someone trying to shove something down other's throats, and taking personal jabs.  The funny part about most of these is the person with the agenda usually has no real experience with what they are pushing.  That is more obvious than they realize also via clues in their posts and a little research.  You also lose credibility and integrity when you are 'made'.  When you push a product or method, and then you are found out you have never killed anything with said method or product....we'll, ya look dang silly.  Especially when you start arguing with folks that have killed truck loads of animals.

Again, I appreciate the membership pointing these out and posting in opposition to the offenders. THANK YOU AGAIN!

#4 - Sales Alerts from non-sponsors.  Postings of links to special sales from big box stores is not allowed...or even small box stores that are non-sponsors.  Or, any notification of sales or deals just for the sake of posting them. If we were to allow this, we would have a discount/coupon/sales forum instead of a bowhunting forum.  This would get out hand real quick.

Just something I feel I needed to address due to some frequent occurrences as of late.

Terry,
I think #3 is what makes this forum so much better (to me) than all the others.

Great site and very reasonable rules.  I would have to let the kid in dippers post a kill with a slingshot or rock.  I think that is trad, but not trad archery so I can live with it rule.  :D

I want to make it clear about #1 since I had someone email me that thought they were breaking the rule by posting about a bow that they got that was from a non-sponsor....here's the response I gave him.

"Roy...no worries.....that's not the problem we are having....there are plenty of post about non sponsors...from bows to arrows, to quivers etc.....what I am talking about is BLATANT infomercial type posts from folks that never participated on the site before."

I like these.  Especially when they come from someone who has not yet killed anything with a trad bow...      :D

These rules regulate this being the most quality, respectful, and informative site on the net for trad hunting.  I recently went on another site, without such rules and wow, I tell ya, did not stay long.  Unbelievable to me the lack of class in this particular group of bowhunters conversation.  Without the rules and boundaries, it just goes into a mayheim of rant.

I always try to think of this as a real campfire discussion, not a cyber one.  Here is my own test.  If I would not say that face to face with you sitting around the hunting campfire, then I do not need to post it on the internet.

A big thank you to Terry and all of the people that contribute to make this forum the most informative, mature, and classy enviroment for trad bowhunting discussion.

I cannot commend enough those who work hard to keep this site running by the rules. This is the ONLY hunting site that I know of that youth can browse without being exposed to peoples darks sides. Not that kids don't see it elsewhere, but thanks for the safe haven provided.

The hunting stories are addicting for young and old. No reason why things can't be kept clean and respectable.

Thanks again.
If man were to know everything in advance, there would be no such thing as adventure!
