I read Traditional Bowhunter, Primitive Archery, and Fur Fish and Game. Are there any others out there worth reading?

wollelybugger

Backwoodsman, and still read Field and stream. Fur, Fin, and Feather is also a good one.

I tend to believe that the best bowhunting magazine available is the PBS magazine.

The only other one I read is Eastmans bowhunting, they have an awesome MRS section that makes some sense of out of state hunting and the application process.

magnus

Trad Archers World. They're a sponsor hear.

I quit reading most of the older outdoors magazines when the male enhancement pill and similar ads started to outnumber the gun ads.

I'll second the PBS magazine and Trad Archers World.  No male enhancement pills there.  ;)

I like the way the stories are written in Sports Afield. More about the hunt, the areas around the world and how to get there, and less of a giant print add for scentlock, mathewsbows, nikon etc..... I would like to take at least one hunt like that in my lifetime.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

TBM, PA, FFG, Occasionally some of the snooty wingshooting magazines such as Upland Journal or Gray's, Arkansas Outdoorsman.  That's about it.  I used to read the others but I can't handle it anymore.  They irritate me.

Occassionally, Bowhunters Mag. will have Trad. articles and Fred Eichler is now a contributing writer.

I read Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, Primitive Archer, Sports Afield.  I am a member of the North American Hunting club but they are a lot about the big adds.  Over half the magazine is Adds.  I have really enjoyed Sports Afield since it was taken over by new folks.  I cant say enough about TBM and PA.

TBM, Primitive archer, Trad Archers World, I get Outdoor Life and Sports Afield and Bowhunter but only till they run out. To many things in them I don't care about and the adds just get more and more crazy. I also get, A Walk In The Woods from Compton, That just gets better with time.....

There's Archery Action from Australia. I also receive TBM and Sports Afield.

The PBS Magazine has the most heart and soul from salt of the Earth bowhunters.

PBS magazine is my favorite.  It cannot be bought over the counter (members only) and no one receives a dime for writing a story/article. You will find well-known authors like the Wensel twins, Monty Browning, M. R. James, Fred Asbell, and others are contributors.

Some free Aussie reading here  http://www.stikbowhunter.com/archive.html   its a good trad read.

Generally I pick a mag up at the newsagent and it has to contain 2 or 3 articles that really interest me, after 30 plus years of hunting and fishing mags a lot is reinvention.

Cheers

My favorites are PBS, TBM, & Eastmans Bowhunting, in that order.

Primitive Archer was good until they strayed from there original focus of primitive equipment and started featuring glass bows (Know anybody who wants to buy every back issue up until the last year and a half?)w.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I would surely hope that most on here receive either "American Hunter" or "American Rifleman".  :)

I do enjoy "Traditional Bowhunter" and "Primitive Archer".
