How many of you will be eating a bird that you harvested with your bow for Thanksgiving?

Store bought for me.....had 2 chances and got busted both times....but it was fun!!   :dunno:
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Yep. One's gonna be a bit chewy, but the other one is a young hen.

We've already eaten one. I am waiting for Laura to nail one. Maybe for Christmas.

Arkansas lost its fall turkey season last year, and we still don't have it back.  No bow turkey this year, which isn't a huge deal to me as there's a lot of game I like better.

Thats a silly question, everyone knows you cant kill a turkey with trad gear.

DEATHMASTER

I will be but it one I raised free range.
26.6lbs, and he was the small Tom in the bunch.

My bird is still running around and laughing at me.

Deathmaster, we raise our own turkeys too.  We got them a little early this year and didn't get them butchered til last weekend.  The biggest gobblers went 36 and 37 pounds dressed, the hens went about 28-30lbs.  lol, my family will be eating turkey for a while.

Got skunked last spring as well.  Put a buddy on one that was less than 5 yards when he planted an arrow right between it's legs in the dirt.  Had I been shooting, it would be a different story!  OK, actually I probably would've missed too.  I was pretty rattled as well.  Smoking that ham for 9 hours last Sunday sure was fun though!

Yes I will be eating the one I killed on Saturday, just in time for Thanksgiving...might be tough though he was an old bird....

Store bought for me! Baked birds are way better with those store bought injected birds. But I like the wild turkey chicken-fried almost better than chicken fried backstrap.

Do you use your bow to kill the domestics? Good practice...

Won't be eating one tomorrow because they usually get ate pretty quick around here(even the legs),specially when you throw em on the grill with some deer T-loins....gotta be pretty quick around my 2 kids if you plan on getting any for yourself...

I've killed every turkey I saw within bow range...lol

I can't honestly say where the bird came from I'll be helping to eat.

If I had to guess I'd say Moser's Grocery.

I pray everyone has a good and Godly Thanksgiving day tomorrow.
