Some w/nearby towns w/hotels. Most is camp out w/hunter camps interspersed. No problem unless it's warm temps. Then it's way too hot. Let me know what part of Texas you prefer & I'll do what I can to help.

And I said, "Here am I. Send me!".

I'm down for any hog hunt in east tx, or not to far west.  New to archery, new to hog hunting, not very good at deer hunting so any experienced hunters wanna teach a newbie a thing or two I'm for it.

Hi Joe this was the old Texas pig hunting site I was looking at when i asked you about pigs. It's funny it came up again. I'm still looking, I would like to try it on my own. Looks like some of the WMAs are still open for pigs in March.

Matador WMA is a great place to get away. I took a heck of a mule deer there a few years back. A lot of rough country out there for sure though. The pigs there are pretty nomadic and cover some ground.

Whiteoak Creek WMA is about 27,000 acres and has a March Hog season. That place is covered up in hogs. You have to but a 40.00 public land permit but a there is a good chance at seeing some hogs.

If the land owners hate them so much and copters are used to kill them why do they charge hunters to hunt them? You would think they would be begging hunters to come in and thin the herd.

Because they want.....money. Texas land owners don't like feral hogs, but they also view them as a "cash crop" because hunters will hunt them.

And lets face it. In this lousy economy, every extra dollar "counts".

Not all of use landowners charge but we do like to really know someone before you come on our land.  Usually that means a friend.  The places that charge also charge for deer, dove, quail and what ever else for them its an income with little input.  Some of those places buy cut boars to put on there place and then charge a fella to come and kill a 500lb hog.  Hogs that big don't have any family jewels.  As for my place it doesn't hold hogs just come ever so often and root up a field.
Gods greatest command:  Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
