I friend that i recently got into shooting recurve and i are planning a spring bear hnt in idaho right now thinking zone 12.  any information anyone has would be helpful this is my first out of state hunt so not really sure what all needs to be done, from my understanding tags are over the counter purchase and are very resonable.  Thanx

Tags are OTC. Unit 12 has good bear numbers and is a 2 bear unit mostly due to limited access. Make sure and check what the winter has been like, access in early Spring can be difficult due to snow. Were you planning to bait? You can buy a bear tag on line but if you are baiting you have to go to a regional  fish n game head quarters to get your bait permit.

we where told that it is better to wait tell closer to june because more bears would be out of course that wold depend on the winter but the guy said many make the mistake of heading out early when many bears are still denne dup.  thanx for the into jesse and longarrow
