Watched the video from their website and said, "I can do that."  Looks easy and quick to set up even for the 63 yr old.

Anyone have experience with these?  I have a lone wolf climber.  It's light but a pain to deal with all the straps and stuff.
No matter how tough the cut of meat, you can always stick your fork in the gravy.

They are the only stand I own. So simple and sturdy. I hung one in the dark this year, excellent stand. Order 3 or 4 chains and you can move around easily. Thier ladder is top notch also.

Best stand made, don't order extra brackets just make your own for about $7 a piece. I own 3 of the stands and have 32 stand sites with brackets on trees ready to go!! PM me if want info on home-made brackets!! Shawn

I hate climbers, so I think the WL would be a step up.  BUT they're heavy.  For my money I'd buy a lone wolf. 12 lbs compared to 20.

I'm not putting up with this guys shit and dogging me.

JPE

Have several different brands, The wedge loc is my favorite. Easy to set, up sturdy, and quiet.

DEATHMASTER

I used old hockey pucks for making my extra chains.
Had a crimper at work for the cable ends.

The best stand out.
The chair they make is great also.

What steps do people use with theres?

Hatchet

I Like my Wedge-Loc, and yes there are some things that you will need to work out. That's bowhunting.    I use either screw in steps or Summits Tree steps.

pacopperhead

They're the only stands that my wife and I use.  She says its the safest feeling, sturdiest stand she's ever used.

I concure with these guys.  I love my wedge Loc and wish i would of cracked open the wallet years ago.  Would of saved me effort and money in the long run.  As well have lost good bucks do to other stand creeking.  Two days ago my brother and I went hunting.  We are like the Wensel's (but better looking)in the fact that we are big guys.  He is 50 and doesn't like to get off the ground.  I talked him into using trying it.  We walked in, I set the stick ladder and stand in 15 minutes.  He got up there and we hunted for 4 hours.  After he got down and I asked him what he thought.  He said "I cann't belive how stable it is, I even stood on the front edge for a shot at a doe and was like standing on concrete".  Yes the price scares alot of people, but one american made, two stable and durable, three light, four can have other places ready and one stand.

Very easy stand to hang and rock solid when its up.  if you carry your stand a ways in the back pack straps are nice.  I also use the strap hanger instead of the chain when weight is an issue.  Goes up just as easy.  I have three different models and like them all.

Spinealigner

Best loc on I ever owned.  Second was the old Screaming Eagle

D.T.

Very happy with mine. Simply the easiest hanging stand you can buy.

I need some help here guys. I am 63, have a new artificial hip and have never even seen a treestand. The hip is coming along good but I don't want to slip or fall for obvious reasons. I have been looking at stands and really like the Wedge-lock. I weigh 200# and have a mile walk to my stand site and will only hang the stand with the platform 6-8 feet high. I can probably leave the stand in place without worring about theft but would like to be able to move as the season progresses.  So, which model of Chippewa stand would meet my needs and which combo of climbing steps and safety equipment would work for me. Any ideas would help me decide.  Thanks, Bob

Because of this thread I visited their website and watched the videos.  The stand is very intrigueing!  I've been using economy model Gorrilla's for years but am finding a few fauls with them, mostly regarding noise. I also tend to use an additional ratchet strap on the front of the stand when I have a limb or adjacent tree I can help stabilize it too. My gorrillas aren't adjustable for leaning trees either.

I just bought a Wolf Alpha-Max a couple of weeks ago but haven't used it yet. I bought the Lone Wolf for its adjustability for leaning trees. If I'm not satisfied witht he Lone Wolf I will check out the Wedge Loc. I might also get a WL during the off season to compare them. I'm not much for setting up a stand the day I'm hunting -- it is difficult to be quiet packing a stand and steps and of course exertion is hard to avoid especially if limbs must be cut in the stand tree or in shot windows. I do all that well before the season begins.

Bowwild

To be clear I haven't had "fauls" (falls) I've had "faults" with the Gorrilla.

For Canadabowyer

I would recommend the Chippewa Chief model. It is the same size as the original Chippewa-wedge-loc stand, but is aluminum and weights in at 9.5 lbs. instead of 15 lbs. like the original.

Used in conjunction with the Chippewa Stik-tite ladders climbing sticks you will have a supper safe and sturdy set-up. If your only going up 10ft. or so two of there long sticks will get you there.

You will also need to invest in a quality full body safety harness. Like the Summit seat of the pants for example.

I have the Chippewa Quest model, it has a pretty small platform though. When I buy my next one, it will be the Chief model. I also have 3 of the short climbing sticks. This combo will get me up about 16-18ft. depending on the spacing between sticks.

Hope this helps

Canadabowyer

RLA, thanks, that is exactly the info I was looking for.I'll check into the Summit seat of the pants safety harness. I know I ain't going up a tree without full safety gear.  Bob
