If you've got your bows... $1000 will go a long way.  I'm sure you slip from time to time.. just remember.. "You have to sin before you can repent"

I agree with BigJim.....you bust your tail making the money, and you can't take it with you, so I'm going to enjoy all of it that I can while I'm here and able.

PS....my great wife agrees with my thinking.

guys i just want to say that i work very hard for my money.i have never been rich either.me and her have been together for a little over 20 years.she also gets every thing she wants,no questions asked.she is the greatest gal a guy could have.she said finally that she was just kidding me about the limit.she also said that she would never try to limit my spending or tell me what to spend it on.i would never do that to her either.she knows how much trad archery means to me.i have one more bow to buy and i will be done for a long time.thanks for posting all of your thoughts, steve

Dirtybird

But pretty soon she won't want you hunting as much either.  I could be wrong but you could be doing other things that are alot worse.  Hopefully it all works out for you.

Dirtybird

Well good to hear seabass, I wish I could find a gal like that.   I guess I spend to much time in the woods.LOL

seabass

dirtybird,i got with her when she was 16 and i was 18.i was a hardcore outdoorsman at the time.i told her that i might go fishing at 4 in the morning without warning and if she wasn't into that she had the wrong man.i told her that i didn,t want to hear about it later.she agreed to stay with me.she has never complained about it one time.that was 20 years ago.she has never complained.she is a great girl.i work very hard an provide her with everything she wants or needs.she doesn't have to work and can come and go as she wants.the world is her oyster.i'll bet that we have had only two disagreements in the 20 years that we have been together.i guess i am very lucky.thanks for all your comments guys, steve

Bowwild

My wife wouldn't suggest such a budget because she knows two can play that game.

That number would have had to work for me (actually much lower) for most of my life but thanks to blessings from Him, I'm able to indulge myself a bit more these days.  That  budget you mention wouldn't have worked for me this year and with a couple of bowyers slipping around South America, Africa, and the coast of Oregon for some exotic woods, it won't work next year either.  However, I have high hopes that 2012 might be a breather -- unless I draw an exotic tag!

seabass

bowwild i am glad to hear that you are doing well.if you draw the tag,you just have to chalk it up to fate LOL.this past year has been tough on me.i was layed off for quite a while.i am a union drywall finisher and because of the poor economy it has been rough out there lately.the good news is that i am back on track with lots of overtime.the bad news is that it is cutting into my weekends.a man has to do what a man has to do.that is if i want that new bow.you either have time or money.i never get the two together.anyway good luck to you, steve
