How much work is required on the 3 River's Woodsman (not elite) to establish the initial bevel?

About 5 minutes on a 12" mill bastard file.

about 2 seconds on a table top belt sander for each of the 3 sides!

I don't hold it on the belt that long. Just long enough to change the angle. litterly 2 seconds!

Doesn't take long at all with a file.

I have done it with a couple dozen strokes on a good file with the the newer regular heads.
p.s. don't get the older heads, they aren't nearly as nice.
