Got a chance at my first trad kill and finally made good on it. Got this 5.5yr old cull buck that needed to be removed bad off our family ranch on November 7. ABout a 10 yrd shot - 100 yrd recovery. Went in the second to last rib and out the armpit

. . . . ok, how do I post a pic?

How to post pics using photobucket

Please use the "preview post" button before hitting the "add reply" button.  Then you can fix your mistakes before the rest of us can see them.

or email them to me and i will post them, but YOU really need to learn how. If i can help, send me a pm or email.

And here is an alternative to photobucket...

The site is called Imagelinky,  http://www.imagelinky.com/  You will still need to resize your pictures before uploading them, but this site will allow you to skip the whole photobucket transfer step.  1.) Resize all pictures to be posted to 640 pixels wide 2.) Open  http://www.imagelinky.com/  3.) Select the "Browse" button on the Imagelinky site. A window will open. 4.) Go to the place on your computer where the picture is stored, select the picture file and click the open button. 5.) From the Imagelinky window click the "Upload" button. Three boxes will appear. 6.) Copy everything from the third box "Forum Link" 7.) Paste everything that was copied into the Trad Gang message box and select "Preview Post"  The picture should have transferred. Repeat steps 3 – 6 to add more pictures.

Congrats, or you could just email them to some one to post for you. But it is not hard at all.

Congrats on your first trad buck kill.

Congrats.

Is "cull buck" a Texas term?
Every deer I've killed has been a pretty special deer....usually a dumb deer but special. A deer that lives for 5 1/2 years in Texas is probably pretty smart.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Lost arra, 'Cull' has nothing to do with the personal trophy IMO - it's just that this is a buck we have been trying to harvest for a couple years as we don't want him passing his genetics. We got one of his sons last year, and he had the exact same formation only smaller.

Very nice Roger. What is the make/model of the stick?

I would call that a COOL buck not a "cull" buck!!!

Very cool buck.  He has probably sired and passed his genetics on to another 15-20 bucks in his five years.  In turn they are now spreading the genetics on...

Or...is there a knucle-headed doe that he sired that is passing on those antler traits?  Hmmm...  :jumper:

Congratulations either way!  Cool trophy.

Thanks for the reminder  ;)   hopefully he hasn't been that successful with the ladies as we keep a pretty tight buck:doe ratio.
