Tomorrow ends the first Archery season here in Penna. Weather looks like fog early in the morning, clearing  up by afternoon with a high of 62. Calm winds.

It has been a different kind of season this year.Lots of variables thrown in as to why. The rut has just seemed to trickle in and out as far as my location goes. Some guys are seeing lots of chasing but I have not.

Acorns were heavy again and the cornfield across the road was just taken down today. I am sure that has had a little to do with it,deer were in it when I came home from work this evening. Nice sight.

I hope you all are having a memory filling season this year. I have stored some good ones away to get me through till next year.

Well, better  go do a check on my gear for tomorrow morning.

                       Good Hunting,

Good luck,I am getting out in the evening tomorrow and the weather is getting colder(good sign).I think the rut is spotty everywhere.keep your chin up and your ears and eyes open.

Things are slow for me as well up here, see what you can do in the AM, Craig ....pick a spot!

Sat still this morning,a chilly one. Lots of squirrels and a turkey calling. No deer.

Heading out in about an hour.Clothes are hanging on the line airing out, lure canisters loaded up and ready to go. Going for broke this evening.

Craig, so slow around here that I didn't even go out. Just been hunting in NJ. My dad did manage to get a nice buck north of me at his place about a week ago. He said it was following a doe. I'll have to agree with the trickle effect. Seemed like it was gonna pick up and then.... I don't know.

Well, it is a done deal for another season. Got out this evening went all out on laying down a heavy scent line. Got the Waldrop situated and settled in
by 3:00.

Beautiful afternoon, see a hawk flying across the field, then a really sleek Black Squirrel crosses down below me. I am sitting on an elevated bank on the side of a natural funnel. It is a good spot.

Another hawk comes flying the other way and let's out his cry. This puts me on full alert, might just be me,but whenever this happens I always see deer. 5:00 comes and we are getting down to the wire now. Quit time looks like about 4:19-4:20 today.

It's just about here now and I start folding the Waldrop up,slip my second shot arrow back in my Mini-Cat and....tish - tish - tish   I hear a deer coming down the trail. I get myself situated
and here he comes, and he is a nice legal buck. He hits my scentline and goes in slow motion.

Perfect,he hits my opening,I hit my anchor and send it right over his shoulder. Ahhhhhhhhh!
He bolts, then slows down, then turns around and comes right back.I am trying to get my second shot arrow out but it is not coming to easy. He catches my movement and lets me know it,snorting all the way. What a great way to end the season!!!

I finish getting my stuff together, get my light out and go make sure what I already know. There is my Beeman squeaky clean, stuck in the moist forest floor.

Some guys would probably be a little upset about missing a peep shot like this (9 yards). And I will be honest,I was too, when I missed this buck last Wed. at this same spot. Unreal!!!!!!!

I clearly see the greatness in the ending of your season. What a great encounter and opportunity to shoot. Much more is to be anticipated for next season.

Yes, another archery season passed in PA.  I put a doe in the freezer early in the season.  Glad I did, because Mr. Buck eluded me.  Only saw two small bucks and a doe tonight.  It was  a great season here in NE PA.  Many good weather days compared to previous years.
