Those of you that use these heads do you use inserts or no?
I have been blessed, beyond measure.

jarhead_hunter

I use them occasionally.

The Razorhead is good enough to use without them in my opinion.

I don't use them, they seem to work fine without them.  Bill

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

They work fine with the bleeder if you that bleeder perfectly seated, they work without them as well.

monkeyball

Without for me. Do not like the idea of that bleeder
getting lost in the body cavity somewhere.

I have 6 unused Bear Razorheads, and the reason I don't use them is they are attached to my original Bear Archery Farbenglass arrows.  The other 6 arrows have original field tips glued on them.

I dont, and never use the bleeders in mine. As monkeyball said that little blade could easily become detached and float around inside were my hands are, plus Im not so sure those little buggers would make, or break a deal.

Don Stokes

I have an unopened pack of 6 from my childhood, sometime in the early '60's. There's some good stuff on the back written by Fred, including the statement that you should never use them without the bleeder blades. Fred was very good at marketing, too. Nobody else made a head like it at the time, so he made sure that folks thought that the bleeders were necessary.

Obviously thousands of dead animals prove otherwise.

I use them have some that have been thru multiple deer. They dont come off if you seat them iin the little slot correctly. Always figured an arrow could slip right past a big artery and they might make a difference.

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a razorhead without one though.

jackdaw

Just got back from an all-trad hunt, and we had 2 guys shooting the old green Bear Razor head. Neither fellow had the inserts in and neither had ever used the bleeder inserts...although both had killed numerous deer with those particular razor heads. If 2 blade Magnus, zwickey,Ace,Hill and numerous other heads work 2 bladed...so will those Bear razors......John

I use them. Like the idea of the extra cutting provided.

I have done both, but normaly go without the bleeder. There all I shoot unless I am shoting knapped heads.

I got one that I keep the words lucky wrote in sharpie on it. It went through it's 6th white tail last week!
"I would rather be lucky then good, any day!"

kill shot

don't use them. they put the brakes on the arrow upon impact.

hvac tech

i have used them both ways with good success .i think the bleeder if i remember in one of fred bears  videos says it releases tension on the head so it will penatrate better .

kill shot

sharpen them with a file so you leave a burr. you need the burr to cut with as the steel is soft.

hvac tech

i have used them with success both ways

monkeyball

Not me, when I get the burr, the burr goes. Two or three feather light strokes with the file after that and the head is picking hairs off my hand.
