I shoot right helical and have for years.  All my bows regardless of setup and changes have given me a slight contact wear on the outside of the shelf.  I'd like to try left helical to see if it still happens.

I have the feathers but would like to borrow a left clamp for a Bitzenburger.  Of course I'd pay shipping to & from.

Your arrow shaft is what is making contact and wearing your shelf.  You can usually tweek your brace height and elimininate it.  It sounds like once you tune your bow the string stretches slightly and lowers your brace height. Or you get tired towards the end of a practice session and short draw by 1/2 inch or less.  But I'll bet your broadheads fly great and the bow is quieter than with field points.  Bill

I agree with Bill.  I don't think feather will matter much as long as they are turned so they clear.  I have found it is the shaft and it can rub ahead of the feather area in many cases and while the arrow is still on the string.  I have seen this wear off the writing on my Beman bow hunter shafts several inches ahead of the feather.

Are your nocks tuneable or are they glue on? If you can rotate them and try that or shoot cock feather in and see if that makes a difference.I'm RH and when I shoot RW I shoot with the cock feather straight up or with it in,that gives me the best clearence.What exactly do you mean contact wear on the outside.

After the season is over I planned to play with the cock feather in.  

Bill, broadheads fly great and are quieter.  Brace is usually at max 7.5" but noticed yesterday it was a hair under.  That may make all the difference.  Other option is perhaps a 1/4" to 1/2" longer shaft.

Current set up is Silvertip 58" 74#@27" with Beman Bowhunter 300 28.5" long with 150gr tips and 50gr inserts.  Flight is good.

Scotty, are you shooting Tru flight feathers or Gateways? Sometimes the Gateways have a little thicker quills and may cause a little more wear.

I had to turn my nocks a little when I was having the same problem.  Are you sure that your arrows aren't too stiff?  If they're spined right and your brace height is right I'd say your nocks are the culprit.

It sounds like your arrows are on the stiff end, your broadheads are longer than your field tips, that softens the spine slightly.  That's why I think your brace height is a little bit off, even low stretch strings will stretch a little bit.  Bill
