Since most of Texas land is private, this is why most hunting in Texas is done on private leases. And it can be expensive. For the newer trad bowhunter living in and looking for a place to hunt in Texas, TPWD has some public hunting areas and this link below will help to pinpoint these areas. Some of these places do allow feral hog hunting all year long.

The corps of engineers also allow bowhunting around some of the lakes that they are on.
