I'm looking for someone to build me a set of limbs for a recurve riser I have.

The riser is bocote and a purple heart stripe. It fit me awesome and I shot it well.

Won't go into the tragedy of the lost limbs, but looking for someone to build me a set of limbs.

I'd prefer a set of longbow limbs... since several guys are building longbow limbs for recurves, but I know the geometry has to be right with the angle of the limb pockets.

I have pics I can mail of the riser to anyone who's interested in taking a run at this and giving me a price.

Thanks for considering.

Doc, That is a real crap shoot. Usually the angle for a recurve is different than a long bow.If you would like to send me a tracing of the risor maybe I can help you out. Knifemaker

Call siegeworks archery....   :scared:    :scared:    :knothead:

Contact Jim at Black Creek bows...he has done some great work with projects like this in the past for members.

Already bugged Jim at BC...angles all wrong.  :)  Now he'd build a riser for anyone's limbs, but the other way around presents more complications!

I'll try siegeworks... got some other ideas from PMs.

Knife, yes, it is a crap shoot. Some bowyers are building longbow limbs now for THEIR recruve risers, but alas..  :)  Different bolt designs, locator pin locations, etc, etc...

It's a pretty riser and worth the effort to try.

and danged if I didn't shoot that bow very, very well... can't say that about a lot of handles!

Thanks...

Send the riser to Dave at siegeworks and you will probably never see it again. Just my opinion

Doc,

I would recommend Elmer Patton of Crow Creek Archery.  I have no doubt he can help you and you'll get a great set of limbs to boot.  Do a search for clovis in the Directory and you can send Elmer a PM or email.  Tell him Bill Lamb referred you to him.

Doc,

Is the bowyer who made the bow no longer in business??? If still in business, he would probably be your best bet for new limbs.

Doc, I sent Mike Mecredy of Maddog Archery my recurve riser to have him make me a set of longbow limbs. He might be able to solve your problem as well. The only problem I have now is what to call the bow since the riser is a Marriah Thermal and the limbs will be Maddog longbow limbs. Any ideas?

HotDog?...lol

A mutt came to mind but that's taken.

RonD,

Airdale...wind called Mariah + air + dog for wind and MadDog...or maybe MD2020...made ya blind but got ya "there" for buck 89 back in the day!  :)  Or so my city brethern would tell me!  :knothead:

Bill, Elmer was one of the first 3 I reached out to..says he can't...too much difference.

Danny,
Guy is plumb out. We got wires crossed on strings. I sanded down a finish that bubbled on the bow and he was to respray. Friend sent me micarta to re-do limb tips to ff. guy said not needed, just "add strands to the loops". I had one made and it laser cut my string nock down the limb...then he realized he meant to say, "Serve the loops". Oops.  :(

We rebuilt his limb form, but never got limbs made... he'd already quit the biz, then sold all his gear. I'm stuck.

I can try Mike and see what he says...  :)

Keep  em coming... I'm setting them up and watchin them fall...   :banghead:

Doc, by all means give Mike a try. I can't speak for him, but I think if it is possible Mike would be one who could make the limbs you want.
Airdale! Now that's catchy.

Doc as a last resort you might look at the Binghams website and think about maybe doing it yourself....I had thought about trying make limbs for older compound risers (not ILF) but currently no workshop.
