You fill in the blank with what ever you call that beast you are after. It is raining pretty solid since before sun up. It is now about 13:30. It has been on these kind of days that I have had all my best encounters with big bucks. There are some bucks out there that  adverse weather is the only thing that will let me get in on them. I like the ground hunt and I love stalking in windy and or rainy days. I know many of you don't like to hunt in the rain, but I would like to hear from those who do and have had some of the most awesome times doing it.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

.....caught up on the honey-do list.

Rain washes away the blood trail and this is too risky for me with the bow and arrow.  there will be better days for me to hunt.

Best of luck.

.....A shower for some I'm sure.   :goldtooth:

It does make for a good hunt when it stops! Quite and they are cold and want to eat.

My favorite time to bowhunt, more buck kills on those days than any other.

I'm with you JJ! had my cloest shot ever on a rainy day  10'. Like to put on the wool, no rain gear for me. I always feel like i have the whole woods to myself, which is usually true! if nothing else its great scouting and anytime your in the woods good things can happen. limit yourself to nothing but good shots and tracking in wet leaves isn't that hard!
love to hang or build blinds on rain days.

Causes the quietest time to stalk the woods, cuz everything is wet.

Gotta love the rain to hunt the NW.  It always rains out here in hunting season.  The elk move all day when it rains, the bucks are up and moving longer, as are the bear. More animal movement means more game in the freezer.

I love hunting in the rain.  Give me a hard blowing rainy day, and ground hunting is in prime time. Just find the deepest nastiest bush you can, the deer and elk are bedded up in it with no way to hear you coming.

I hunted this morning in a hard rain. Came in around 10am....then went back out at 1pm and still hunted a good area until 4:30. Still raining pretty good here.

Will pick another area tomorrow and still hunt, call and do some rattling. The woods will be extremely quiet tomorrow, another great day to be out.

I'm a firm believer in hitting the woods at every opportunity. You can't kill anything sitting home watching TV or wishing the weather would change so you can hunt. He who spends more time in the woods will be more successful than the hunter sitting home waiting for perfect weather conditions to hunt.

Some sun toady and in the 70's so had to mow the lawn this afernoon..just wish the lawn was not about an acre in size.

Hunting wise, we are in a "lull state" now as modern rifle deer is happening and then it's rifle elk.. I won't be back in the woods until Thanksgiving thru Mid Dec for late archery.     :banghead:
