just wondering what do you guys use to make your recurve as quit as possible.  FF seems to be a bit noisy, need some help to make it hush.  thanks  :dunno:

you can put felt pads on the limbs to help quiet that slap.  3 rivers and kustom king have them.

a cheap alternative are self-adhesive felt pads made for chair legs. I dont use em because i only shoot longbows but some of my colleagues from the archery club are happy with em.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I just put a FF string on my recurve and have been tweaking mine. So far, I've put new felt pads on the limbs tips, adjusted the brace height, added another set of string silencers and sanded my arrow knocks down more than normal.

What I found was the felt pad material I was using was thinner than what I've used the past. A lot of the extra niose was still coming from the string slap. I amade the change and found a significant difference. I will start to remove some of the other remedies as I don't like a lot of "junk" on my bow and hopefully it will stay quiet.

I like to use Bow Hush on my recurves, works great and easy to install.

I just asked the same question a week ago. I ended up padding my string and using good ol' fashioned cat whiskers. It doesnt even feel or sound like the same bow now. I very happy with it.

Arthur,

All the advice is good. I had a similar situation and I solved the noise with a slightly higher brace height and a heavier arrow. No more string slap noise and the bow tuned out much better.
