I love hunting tree rats with a bow and there are many times when I have to fight the urge to get out of the stand and go chase them.

Well it was the end of the hunt and there must have been at least a dozen squirrels moving around in the thick brush so I decided to make my move when one came into the clearing.

The results from my efforts was one for the frying pan and several close misses.

Once it cools off a little more down here I will start taking breaks from chasing deer and hogs and get after the rats a little harder.

   It sure is hard to stay in the stand when there are alot of squirrels that need shootin'.

Some of my best deer hunts were ones that turned into great squirrel hunts. Those mild Oct days that seem to bring out every squirrel in the woods are the days I stillhunt....and usually see more deer as the tree rats keep me in slo-motion high alert.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

Nice shooting.  Those small targets are true trophies.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Very nice picture Chris, with that big broadhead where is the hole ? It has been raining so much here in western Washington lately you would need waders or a boat to go squirrel hunting.
