I have a bow made from a Hill Half Breed blank, 68" a bit more whip ended than a normal Hill.  I just got a string from Steve, aka Frankbullit, that makes this bow shoot softer and more quiet than any bow I have ever had the pleasure to own.  The only thing is that I need to shoot five pound heavier spined arrows because of the increased performance. I think that the string has to do a lot with how quiet a bow puts out an arrow, I have often wondered if loop size comes into play as well.  I have quieted down recurves by making strings with an extra long bleed outs and still keeping the loops as small as possible.

Well if it has to be a recurve, the Fedora 560 is the quietest 'modern' recurve I have had.
Let me add that classic Bear Kodiak recurves from 1956-1962
are unsurpassed when it comes to 'quiet'.  IMHO
My 60" 1959? Kodiac got really quiet with just a small amount of work.

The quietest recurve I've ever shot is a late 90's Super Kodiak I have. It's 57# at my 29" draw, has a B-50 string with small wool yarn silencers, and I'm shooting 600+ grain doug fir arrows out of it. It is the first recurve I've ever had my hands on that it actually as quiet as my Hill Big Five.
