I use different broadheads on different animals for reasons I believe in.

I killed my biggest moose with a 160 gr. Magnus two blade but I have killed my last two moose with 160gr. Stos broadheads. You never have too much penetrating power when you hunt moose and I also find Stos a little easier to sharpen, as well as taking up less room in my quiver top.
Like most of you, I like experimenting and if I can find cedars that are stiff enough for my draw length and weight I may try heavier Abowyers next year for moose.

For black bears my favorite head is the 160 gr. Snuffer.

For the other two animals I usually hunt, caribou and deer, broadhead choice is still important but less critical so I may use any of the above as well as Magnus with bleeder blades.

I love the stos , found them easier to sharpen and tune and the design is awesome the tip will not bent as the Magnus has bended for me before

Both are excellent heads... that being said, I shoot Magnus 1's myself.  I like wide 2-blades.  

Couple of years ago I had 4 shots at 4 critters with 4 hits (one was a spine shot with a quick follow up into the lungs), with a total tracking job of 105 yards.



One 11 point buck and two does in Texas (Solana), 12 to 28 yards perfect flight to their mark.

Heads sharpen easily, and do massive damage when they get there.  Three of the arrows were sticking in the ground and the 4th (28 yards) was to the fletchings about 2" above the heart. Ribs, spine, and off shoulders hit.  They were shot out of that Shawnee, 60# @ 29".

STOS broadhead doesn't come in screw-in. Anybody use the STOS with the Magnus 11/32" screw-in adapter, the long adapter? How well does it fit and align for you? Thanks.

I've used both short and long. They work better than non magnus for me. Magnus adapters seem to be just a tad wider and most of the time, but not always, you don't have to play around on a spin tester to get em straight, just push them in tight all the way, spin a little, let er harden and you're good to go.

Magnus or stos but i like the old Bear Green heads as well

I personally shhot the ventilated Magnus and they fly like DARTS! My go-to head this year. Both are great.....

Is the STOS single or double bevel?

I use the the Magnus 11/32" long broadhead adapter with my 160 grain STOS broadheads. They fit fine and work for me.

I have had a great deal of luck with the STOS heads they are easy to get scary sharp and fly very well.

The STOS is double bevel.I have only mounted them on steel adapters but found that the ferrule is very true and all I mounted spun perfectly without tweaking.They also come with an excellent tanto tip and are less apt to bend or tip curl.
