I had a run in with  these two squirrels while hunting a specific Buck last night. Some times you just cant pass up a shot or two

After the second shot I found my arrow and the 200 grn VP Terminator broad head was buried in a maple tree root deep. I finshed huntng for the evening and decided to return in the late morning and chop my broadhead out of the root.

About 10:00 am I made my way into the woods and several large black blobs caught my attention. Three turkeys were moving away from me to my right and up a grape vine infested hill. To my left was a freshly harvested soybean field that followed the wood line up to a corner about 400yds infront of me.  I made my way to the corner just inside the wood line. To my left another flock of turkeys started coming into the field and working their way to the corner. I had to get down on my hands and knees and back down the hill. Once I was able to get around the hill further to my right I started back up. Now the turkeys should be right infront of me. Every step I doubted they would still be there ,but i slowly crept back within 10 yds of the field edge. To my surprise not only was the flock still there a handfull of birds were walking the field edge right to me. Once I saw the first bird make it to an opening between some maple tree leaves I came to full draw and let her fly. There was no mistaking the sound of the hit.  I waited for the other turkeys to run out of the field but they just walked around looking in every direction. They had no idea where I was. After 30min I walked out into the field and saw the hen bunched up in the brush line. She had only gone 15 yds.

I have been trying to fill a turkey tag with my Shrew for a couple of years. Today it came together. This is my first Trad Turkey Harvest ever. She is a young hen and I am as happy as ever to have her.

Sorry in advance if the story is hard to follow. It's a cop thing...

Congrats. If I could move better, the only deer I would shoot would be the ones got that between me and the turkeys and pheasants.  Bird hunting with a bow is pure fun.

Gatekeeper

Cool! Congratulations.
