The old Heinz 57 commercial comes to mind - anticipation and satisfaction.  Nice.

Excellent John, is that the longbow you had at Marsh Hill this summer? I finally got a 58" longbow finished up just before our season started. I'm hoping for a similar picture. Rob

Great job on everything, especially the recovery!

Nice work John. You did the right thing to recover your deer. Nice to see the effort.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Congratulations---nice job there.  It always feels good to build your own "stuff" and then use it successfully.

That is really special, good job, The first one with 'your stuff' is one you will always remember. Congratulations !!!!

A great accomplishment, made even greater by finding the doe after what must have been a tough tracking job.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Thanks everyone!!

I'm sure you all know what's said about finding a gut shot deer....Well, after running out of blood we started the grid search deal, and I took the route along the creek bottom.  Sure enough, there she laid in a patch of golden rod along the stream bank.

Rob - Yes, that is the same bow I had with me at Marsh Hill.  Good luck with your new build!

Now my goal is to fill my buck tag with a good double lung shot.  Got vacation time coming to me next week...
