I contacted Bear Archery with this question and they told me they had no data.  I know a few people here use or have used a Montana longbow and was curious about arrow speed as I have no way to test it.  I am visually aware that it is a slower bow but know nothing about IBO speed or even arrow speed with a hunting weight arrow.  Has anyone tested or heard something on this matter?  I'm trying to find a jumping off point in order to calculate my Kinetic Energy produced.  Thanks in advance.

I am using a Montana. When last I checked the bow's speed was 192-3 fps. I was shooting Gold Tip carbon at 29 1/2 inches with 125 grain field tip and 50 grain insert. I don't know the total weight of the arrow. Also, if you want more speed switch to a Fast flight flemish string. I am using 12 strands.

I am now shooting Stika Spruce four fletch arrows from Northtwest Archery. They are spined for 60 to 65#.I can tell they are faster but not by much. They seem to shoot flatter. Most likely they are lighter.

One more thing, it is a 50# LH bow.

I know nothing of the specs as far as speed,but I know mine is fast enough!!!

I have shot a few thru the chrono.
When shot at 9 grs/lb, I got about 168-173 fps.
The type of string material and strands and type of silencers will make some difference.

It seems to shoot faster than the Martin Savannah, and the Savannah is a pretty fast production bow. It is not as fast as a black widow or tomahawk.
