Anyone here build bows? I'm looking to learn and start working on my own and hoping for a little hands on help! Thanks in advance!

Check with Wingnut at Dryad bows. They offer blanks and a DVD on how to finish them. They are great folks to deal with. I'm thinking of ordering a youth blank for my granddaughter.

They are in Weatherford BTW.

Also... Check out Mark Hornes 2-day bow building school!  It is awesome!  He is a sponsor here as well.

I would do that in a heartbeat if I had a place to stay. I want to learn as much as possible.

I talked to the folks at Horne's. I'm looking more at learning how to from scratch. Not from a partially completed kit.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Check with Wingnut at Dryad. I think he goes from scratch in his buildalongs. It's a long way from Texas, but Ted Fry at Raptor does another buildalong. One of these days, I promise myself that I will attend one of these, too.

You might contact someone involved with the Oklahoma "BowJam". Its held every Feb or March in the Tulsa area. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Run a search here on TradGang. It should pop up. The "BowJam" would be a great starting point if your serious about building your own. Before I'd do anything I would recommend researching the process as much as possible. Good luck from an avid traditional archer who in just not geared that way.   :archer2:
