20 lb. gobbler, 9" beard. Lots of turkeys in our part of the world this fall. For those who are interested, I shot him with a Pronghorn 62", 56#@28", cedar arrow, and Magnus 2 blade. He went about 20 yards.

This one came pretty easy. Several flocks have been in a couple of places that I have been hunting, and I drove up to the area and saw this gobbler along with several hens. Got out of the vehicle and let him walk over a little rise, and when he did I made a run at him and as I topped out of the rise, there he was, nervous as all getout but only about 10 or 15 yards away. He gave me enough time to pick a spot, and as I said, he only went about another 20 yards, but I did give him a follow up arrow. Broke both my arrows   , but I think he was worth it.

Definitely worth it! Love hunting the turkeys and really like the background he was taken in. Think I may give them a shot tomorrow and put the deer hunting secondary.

Congrats buddy!!  I need to come out there and get me one of those Merriams one of these days.  We did see a few while we were out there last year.
