I shoot with a tab or glove prefer a glove but will try a really good tab. What do you feel is a glove or tab that offers finger protection for a mid to heavy bow? I shoot 54#-60# bows. I like to have a little substance to my glove or tab but not at the expense of feel for the string. I have a BW glove that is comfortable but with the overlays on the tips it is just to thick. I have a Fred Eichler tab that has a great release but the tab seems to bunch up in the middle near the nock point, this tab does not have a no pinch insert. I guess I want to know who has a good glove or tab that might be what I am looking for in glove or tab. I have looked hard at the American Leather glove but not sure of the fit or thickness. Thanks for your help in advance.

Bear paw glove is what I like,And I thin you can trim the tab to fit.

I've been using American Leathers Big Shot glove for a couple of years and really like it. I've used quite a few through the years and it is definitely my favorite.

I have two of the American Leather Big Shots in elk leather and shoot the same weight as you do.  No problem for me on feel of the string or release.  The sides of the finger stalls are fairly thin compared to cow hide.  The stalls are overlayed with thin neoprene and nylon web.  Very slick release for me.

I had to tighten my index finger stall. I just ran a row of stitches on the stall edge away from the nock.

Give John Turner at American Leathers a call about the gloves for sizing.  You can likely send him a close tracing of your hand, down past your wrist to get a proper fit.  He is a good guy and sponsor here.

I use a Bateman cordovan glove I bought from "
The Nocking Point" (one of the sponsors here).  It is thick enough and smooth enough for a smooth release (doesn't get a big groove worn into it).

I also use the Big Shot glove.  Best glove I have used by far.  I really like the finger protection and the nylon overlays.  Lke Ray_G said, the nylon gives a really slick release, especially after you shoot it for a while.

I shoot 60 and 70 pound recurves using a Neet finger tab. Tab allows me to roll it behind my hand to climb a stand, use my elk call or get stuff from my pack.

I shoot a Bateman Cordovan tab, I trim it to suit me & I can turn it away to access stuff with my fingers.

I prefer a thin tab, single layer of cordavan. Let the fingers toughen up and callous a bit over the summer shooting with the thin tab. By fall they will be used to pulling the old string back.
I've shot up to 76 pounds with excellent string feel with a thin tab.
I do what stykbender does too, roll the tab out of the way when doing different things. REAL easy to keep extra tabs in your pockets too, don't take up much space.

I have different gloves and also tabs...but the other day I tried shooting with a golf glove and found out that I like it. Gives you a good feel of the string. Might try it. I like it.
