I have a Hill style longbow and I love it to death. The problem is, its only 46@28 and I only have a 26" draw length. I would like to hunt with more but Im much more accurate with this bow so I guess my question is, Is this a hunt worthy bow for me? For arrows I have 2 sets of woodies that shoot good from it. One set with 160 gr. Magnus IIs up top and one set with ace 125 grain standards. If I do choose to hunt with this bow, which arrows should I use?

What are you hunting? My son shot clean through a Mule deer buck at 15 yards with a 40 @ 23" Hill Cub. I believe either arrow would work. Keep your shot distance reasonable and have those arrows flying straight with the broadheads really sharp

I keep my broadheads extremely sharp and I'll be hunting white tail and maybe a turkey if I get lucky. And what was the weight of his arrow?

40 lb bows kill deer and turkeys every day!

Ditto on what Jim said about Broadheads and arrow flight.

If I recall it was a hair over 500. I think 515. He was using a Ramin arrow with a 160 Ribtek.

You said you shoot it well, if that's the case and you are getting good arrow flight you are ready to go....best of luck!!!

Yes, your is just fine. Shoot those arrows that fly best from the bow. If they perform equally, then choose the ones that just strike your fancy. Hunt hard and shoot with full confidence in your equipment.

Oops! Sorry, I meant to start out that your rig is just fine. Anyway, you know what I mean.
