anyone know anything about the short recurves made by cascade bows? If you have one please let me know what you think about them. Thanks

I have a 52 inch recurve.  Like it a lot from a blind.  I pull 28 and feel no stack.  I like the grip, not the quickest on the planet, but OK.  His short bows are made for B50 only.   Well made bow.

I have a 52" Nighthawk 70# @ 28". My draw is around 29" and I absolutely love it! I shoot a Flemish string and get comments on how fast it is.

is the nighthawk a better bow then the goldenhawk?

Thanks

I have shot their 56 inch recurve (the top of the line model whatever that is) and it did not stack out to my 30 inches and was as nice as many longer bows I have shot. I spoke with the bowyer at Cascade and he has some interesting things to offer about the mythology of short bows being no good for longer drawing archers. Give them a call.

Charlie ... this buck was killed with a 52" Nighthawk Cascade bow I have had since 1991. It has killed Caribou, deer, antelope, javies, hogs and turkey. While my draw has shortened over time in 1991 it was 29 1/2" and this bow was smooth all the way back to full draw.

If you hunt out of blinds or tree stands it gives you an advantage on limb clearance.

Like lots of stuff, everyone has their own fit and style so you need to try one to be sure, but it has been a great bow for me.

Best to ya, ken

Mate I have a 52" Goldenhawk Magnum 60# @ 29', I haven't owned a lot of curves , but this thing leaves the others that I have for dead, smooth quiet, and most important to me, sweet on the shot, none of this boinging and doinging upon the arrow heading off. May not be the quickest on the block, but hey the it performs in every other aspect I can live with a few fps down, and it isn't that much either.

Cheers

The Cascades Golden and Nighthawks are awesome bows. I shoot mine @ 29.5" and no stacking at all! Nice handling and straight shooting!

There is no difference between the night hawk and the Golden Hawk other than weight. I like the Night Hawk for the weight as it makes it more steady. But the woods he puts in the Golden Hawk are awesome. He has some of the best Cocobolo I have ever seen. The 52" is a dream to shoot and groups really well. You can see them in action on Steve's hunting video ( Bowhunting Reflections). Steve takes several animals with it.

I have a Nighthawk, 56" and pull 30", shoots well for me.  I got it for ground blind hunting but it shoots right along with my longer bows at longer yardages.  I don't beleive the Nighthawk is any "better" than the Goldenhawk, the only difference is the riser is made of phenolic on the Nighthawk, this gives the bow a little more weight, which some people like.  My bow is approved for fast flight type strings, not sure about the shorter ones. I really like how the limbs fit into the riser rather than bolt on it.  Steve has been making bows for a long time, good man and will stand behind his equipment.
