Congrats gentleman...looks like a heck of a trip. Beautiful country. Love that pic of Jeff and his bear with that yeller bow and bloody rock arra sitting there. Tells quite a story.   :clapper:

So how'd the KNIVES work out?

Ray- For some reason seeing the pictures of you reminded me of the Elk burr belt buckle that my dad made for you in the early 90's. I believe it a had a Wisconsin whitetail buck on it that you had shot, but I could be wrong. I was just wondering if you still have the buckle or wear it anymore. Congrats on the bear! Take care, Tyler Carlson

yep..still have that buckle, and wear it often, Tyler. Your Dad is quite a craftsman/artist. It's one of my most prized posessions.

Congrats guys, and keep it coming. I knew I was gonna be sorry I had to turn down the invite. Maybe next year.

Thanks for the reading material for work. Can't wait to go in tonight and read these threads word for word.

I have to second what Doc said...without Tom, Allen, and Lloyd doing all the backup work in advance of our arrival this could have been just another trip...but their hard work and planning made this a trip to remember, forever.

And next year, with luck, I will get to do it again!!

keith,
a 620 grain carbon tipped with a razor sharp grizzly broadhead means you don't HAVE to run, brother.

If that doesn't work, Lil' Bobby Walker said he would do hand to hand with 'em for me just in case!  :bigsmyl:

Maybe this won't make much sense to some of  you..but I just love a place where they do things like name stand sites.

Resurrection, The Bowl, Moose Path, The Deli, The Long Trail, The Bird Stand, The Beaver Pond, 42, and on and on- every one of the names had a meaning to the group- when people do things like this it tells you what's in their souls..that it MEANS something to them.. they love doing what they do..and take great pride and pleasure from it.

It's the people we were with, in the final analysis, that MADE this trip what it came to be. Tom, Lloyd, Allen, Barry, Don, Brian, Jeff, Eric, Bob, JC, Steve- I had just a tremendous time with all of you in camp, baiting, on stand, at meals, laughing around the fire, even the rides back and forth- it could not have been a better trip.

Hollywood Hammond glad you made it back home safe. Thanks for posting the cool pics with info.I dropped Don " BOWDOC " Ward at hartford airport this morning for 5:30 am for the flight back to Seattle. As of now it is looking like he is hired as camp cook & entertainment for 2nd Annual BEAT QUEST June 2008' next year.
This being the 19th year I have been fortunate enough to hunt & bait bears and I must say with 100% sincerity it was the best time of them all.Great guys, alot of Bear action on baits, quite a number of other spiecies spotted whitetails,Moose, lynx & even a Wolf 1st one in 19 years !!! There were also woodchucks, and too many grouse & hares to count !!
Less than 48 hours after returning from Quebec I have started the wheels turning for 2nd Annual Bear Quest spring 2008'.I am planning on 2-  1 week hunts 12 hunters. For those folks interested they might want to do some serious thinking about attending because there is much interest already.
It was a treat to hunt with JC again and the other Southern boys Bob Walker & Ray Hammond we had a blast.Bowdoc kept us laughing like you wouldn't believe,he could make Larry the " Cable Guy " wet his pants with his antics and stories.
Keep those photos comin Tippit,Ray,JC etc.
P.S. Hats off to Woodie Blackwell for making up the order for me for the 9 knapped heads, hope your move goes smooth and you need to make room in your schedule for 2nd Bear Quest next spring <>
