Well my "Classic" Mohawk arrived 20 days after I ordered it!!!!!!

What a sweet bow, 50# @ 30". After consulting Stu's program (this man is a genius), it only took me a couple of hours to get the perfect set up. This includes cutting and fletching a couple of different batches of arrows.

I've owned over 30 different bows both long bows and recurves from all the best bowyers. If I had all that money back I could go to Africa a couple of times to hunt

This bow is smooth, quite and a dream to shoot. Tore my shoulder up a 2 years ago, so I sold my higher poundage bows. This bow feels alot lighter than 50#. Checked it on my scale and a perfect 50#.

Final arrow set up is Beman Classic ICS 340's, 31.75", 3-5 inch shield cut feathers,100 grain brass inserts, 125 grain heads, (225 grains total), 571 grains total arrow weight, 18.5% FOC, 11.4 grains/# and shooting 164 fps.

I told Vince I wanted a good looking hunting machine. He recommended the "Classic" with Bacote riser and overlays, actionboo cores and black glass, with white and black micarta tips.

I have plenty of pics but am having trouble figuring out how to add to this thread

I'm an engineer so I'm probably making this harder then it needs to be. At least that what my wife always tells me  :p

RC I use to hunt down in Baxely in the mid 90's. Shot some nice deer there!!!!!! Man do I miss it. I have some pics on the wall of the place. Huge old farmhouse with a cistern well off the front porch.

We hunted a farm off the beaten path down a sand road. I remember we could see the lights of the nuke plant off in the far distance. It was about a 1/2 mile from the Altamaha river.

We use to go into Baxely to eat and shop at the Western Auto for ammo. Also had washing machines, bikes, cloths, etc...LOL!

I'm origanally from Ohio and my buddy from Miami, FL. We stopped in a brand new liqour store to buy the owner some refreshments for letting us hunt. I was wearing a Cleveland Browns hat and my buddy a Miami Hurricanes hat. Come to find out the owner of the store played for UM and the Browns. I was pretty blown away having that happen in Baxely!!!!!!

I've told my 15 and 17 year olds about it. They can't believe the stories of the number of deer we use to see. They are really bummed cause we don't see much when we go out bowhunting in east TN. We have a private farm to hunt, but it's small. Both have shot does with a gun and my 17 year old got one with a bow last year. They think old dad is crazy to use the longbow!!!

Not the best pics. But needed to get some thing up!

The black glass against the boo looks awesome. The bacote is really set off also.

Simple yep. I wanted something that would not cause me to slit my wrists when I scatched it up while hunting. I had so monay bows that were like fine pieces of furniture, I wanted a sharp but more working man type bow.

Next one I order will be alot fancier. I'll use it for the 3-D shoots!!!!!

Sweet! A Mohawk is on my short-list.

I can't say enough good things about any of the Mohawks I own or have owned. I'm down to two now and I can assure you my classic will go to someone someday but I won't be here to see it..lol

Nice bow! I know what you mean when you say sweet!!

Thanks for sharing.

VR, The place your describing sounds like the old Moody Place. I`ve killed a lot of deer there. The Old Timers have passed away and now the place is a State owned Natural Area. Open for hunting for the month of November.I can remember Turkey hunting there and the loud speaker at the Nuclear plant would make the Turkeys gobble.RC

purty bow - bocote is classic for the riser and contrasts nicely with the black limb glass.  congrats on a fine longbow!

RC too bad about the old timers! My room mate in college knew him. The nicest people you could ever meet. Treated you like family.

Rod and Mudd the pics really don't do it justice. Simple yes but very attractive!

I see my 15 or 17 year old son getting this some day. Looks like I better order another one so there is no fighting!!!!

Mudd you  don't happen to have a pattern for that hat you'd be willing to send me. Would love to try my hand at making one. I already have the turkey feather....LOL!
