Congrats!!!  So had you made it to your blind, or were you still walking in?
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

First deer and Dad's broadhead-now that is a memory. Congrats.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Nice when it's a clean kill too. Congrats
Enjoy those deer steaks

Excellent! First post, first kill, Dad's broadhead. What a great story. There's Big Mojo in that broadhead. I would never risk using it again either, but I might be thinking of a way to carry it on my hunts as a good luck totem. Maybe on a necklace, or make a broadhead neck knife out of it. Welcome to the campfire, and hope to hear of your further adventures.   :campfire:    :archer2:

Thanks for the warm reception, and all the great comments! Yeah maineac, I had just arrived at my "blind" (which was just a place that I had kicked all the leaves out of on Friday morning), and hadn't even gotten around to taking my Cat-quiver off. Couldn't have been more than 4 or 5 minutes. Just a great morning.
