Wow 18 mouths is a long time to wait for a Shrew. Can any one tell me about the Dwyer Endeavor if you have pics that would be great also.

I have a Dwyer Defiant and it is great.  So I would guess that the new bow is as good.

I have shot one, a buddy of mine bought the prototype.  That bow is like 58 inches or so.  We both draw around 30 inches.  No stack, no finger pinch.  The bow is pretty forgiving in my opinion for a short bow.  Lets see, I think they are on the loud side of quiet, but really very acceptible for hunting.  I think the bow draws real smooth and as i recall felt lighter than the actual draw weight.  the bow had good quicks.  In fact it shot a 466 grain arrow at 180 FPS or a bit better not really sure exactly, at least 180 though.  The bow was like 53 pounds. the bow was nearly devoid of handshock, I believe latter models have none.

That is like 8.8 grains per inch.  I thought it should be a bit faster, but heck he has blown through a deer and a turkey with it.  So, the stats I have given were for the prototype.  I have since learned the production design is just as fast with the same weight arrow but at lower poundage and is a fuz quieter.

I think the wait is still around 9 months for a bow.  That said, Dave and Corey build outstanding bows of terrific quality ... for near half of what others may charge.

I hope this is helpful. I have never shot a shrew, never held one so I guess I am biased.  I think a Dwyer bow of any kind is excellent.  The Endevor is a great bow.

I've got a Shrew CH also and they are both nice bows. I shoot the Endeavor better and I don't know why. Could be the length 58" vs 54"? I got a deer with the Shrew last season, hoping for the same from the Endeavor.

They look REALLY fragile.
I love the way they feel and shoot.
Had an opportunity at k zoo.

Just worried they'd bust off when sitting the bow in the dirt/snow. Or walking through the woods etc..

Wonder if they would make the tips a little bigger.....hhmmmm.

Pesonally, I think Dave's limb tips are works of art.  They are functional and really beautiful.  I have owned may a Dwyer have never had an issue with limb tips except for one time ... I am 6'4" , I was shooting in my basement with a Dauntless that was a special model ... 64 inches.  I hit the ceileing on release and busted a tip.  Totally my fault. Dave had it fixed for like 50 bucks or so and I had it back in like 2 weeks.  

On a side note, I think the Dauntless is an awesome bow, may be my favorite of any bow.  I jsut wish Dave would make them 64 inches.  I wish I never sold the one I had!!

Bows, well built and sell well when you need to update.
It would be hard to find a better person than Dave.

Dave called me and said my new Endeavor would be done this week.  I ordered it in March, so that's a good indicator of the wait time.  African blackwood riser, curly maple veneers, boo cores and beavertail grip.  I'll post pics and give a review when she comes.  That said, it's gonna sit for this season because I have an awesome Dwyer defiant thats thirsty!

I have a Dauntless and was a bit concerned about the tips. When I was at Denton Hill I talked to the Dwyers and they told me not to worry, that they had very few failures and when they did it was because someone did something that caused it. I really think they have an excellent product.

I don't think they would break off just shooting.

I'm just worried if they can take an "oops" like hitting the ground a little during the shot. Or a bump on a tree when walking etc.

No bow is bullet proof.
I just have a hard time overlooking an obvious weak point...at least weaker than some others.

I'm not that rough on a bow. I just want to know my bow will hold up to an occasional "oops"

I KNOW they are very good quality bows.

Does the endeavor need a little limb padding next to the string grooves to quiet the string ?

All I can say is I ahve hunted my older Dwyers hard.  They helped me up real steep inclines, and have been in the woods real hunting a lot.  My buddy has had Dwyer's for MANY years.  He hunts hard here in Wisconsin, but also goes out west every year.  He has taken antelope, mulies, whitatils, turkeys and bears that I know of.  HE hunts ... the bows get used ... never a problem with a limb tip or anything.

Dave tells me he has a man who is a PH in africa.  He refinishes that mans bow every year or two.  Dave asked him why/how his bow was so dinged up, and why not a new bow?  HTe guy replied, I love this one.  It is all messed up because of the terrain in Africa and he admittedly just "Chucks" his bow in his truck after every hunt.  He does not baby anythig appearently.  Outside of touch ups for dings in the finish, never a worry with his bow.

I guess I would not let the limb tips stop you from getting one.  Best bet would be to talk with Dave on the phone.  I have no idea how the Endeavor compares to a Shrew, but I do know a Dwyer bow is a good one.

Believe me the tips are no issue at all...my defiant is 62 lbs @ 28" and I have never had an issue.  It actually helps with speed and cast of the arrow.  No handshock what so ever.

I have 3 Dwyer original that I LOVE. I( always thought if I ran out of arrows I could use the tip as a spear if need be.   BILL
